About the job:

Multiple openings have become available for experienced Senior Collectors within our Collections Department.

The purpose of this role is to contact borrowers with accounts that are in litigation stages and identify the reasons for default and to negotiate arrangements to bring the account up to date, making sure the arrangement is consistent with their ability to pay.

Your duties will include:

  • Collecting payments and agreeing satisfactory payment plans in a professional and amiable way.

  • Achieving department benchmarks for call quality following company, Treating Customers Fairly and Financial Services Authority guidelines when dealing and referring accounts.

  • Dealing with customers problems that are causing them financial difficulties.

  • Advising customers of any relevant action within agreed time scales.

  • Ensuring all actions satisfy legal requirements Consumer Credit Act and Data Protection Act.

  • Taking pro-active steps to reduce arrears when court orders have been broken.

  • Being flexible to meet the needs of the company.

  • Managing the litigation process and commence enforcement when all avenues to remedy the arrears situation have been exhausted.

    5.Cancelling Eviction and Hearing Dates

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 12 months Collections experience .

  • Come from a financial background.

  • Good PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Excellent Telephone skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Strong Communication skills.

  • The ability to work to targets.

  • Experience in strong objection handling and problem solving skills.

  • A good understanding of FSA and TCF.

  • Excellent Time management.

  • Effective decision making skills.
